Everyone nowadays knows how important a page rank can be, the higher a pager rank the more traffic you get and you eventually end up also making more money. A change in Google’s page rank algorithm was expected in mid of 2009 or even later. However Google surprised everyone by implementing the updated PR algorithm just days after Christmas.
The sudden change hit many websites including bloggers and forums by surprise many of which lost a few points off their page’s ranking. No One is sure what the change was in the algorithm and what the long term effects of this change would mean. For website owners who lost a few points on their page rank this came as a frightening surprise, where as there were many websites that gained a few points.
It is still left to be seen what the far reaching effects would be of this change and if it comes accompanied with a few system changes that stops black-hat SEO consultants from exploiting the Google system to get high page rankings.
