Clever Magpies

Recent experiments have shown that magpies can recognise themselves in mirrors, which is a feat that has rarely been seen amongst birds. Jellyfish have been threatening the British coast, and are having an increasingly harmful effect on marine life as well as tourism. Mass stinging episodes on swimmers has occurred in the Mediterranean, and damage to several fish farms in the Black Sea and the Atlantic has transpired wiping out hundreds of fish. (more…)

Three former engineers from the popular search engine Google are launching their own internet search tool which is to be called Cuil.com. They boast that their search engine will be able to scour 120 billion web sites to find whatever it is that you are looking for. Three years ago, Google had a search index of 8.2 billion web pages, but can it compete with Cuil.com? (more…)

Yeti Footprint

New evidence of the existence of Bigfoot has been found in the Garo Hills of Northern India. Two short hairs were picked up in the forest several years ago and believed to be from the elusive Yeti. Tests have been done on the hairs, but have failed to link to any known creature. (more…)
